Jack Ryan, a rugged, rule-breaking cop, loses his partner to a crazed criminal during a hostage rescue. He captures the murderer, who is then sentenced to death. The vicious killer is then abducted and turned into a cyborg for the "Anti-Terrorist Group". When the cyborg "Spartacus" is accidentally activated, he kills his creators and attempts to build a Cyborg Empire. Only Jack and a few friends know how to stop him.

Ex-DEA agent Jack receives an emergency message from his brother Phillip, whose team was ambushed on the Caribbean island of St. Keith. Jack goes to St. Keith to find his brother, who has been turned into a cyborg by the drug runner he was after.

Also known as Scanners: The Showdown, this brings back LAPD scanner cop Sam Staziak (Daniel Quinn) and places him on the case of renegade scanner Karl Volkin. He's already put the man in jail once before and killed his brother, but now Volkin has been killing other scanners and adding their power to his own.Volkin gets his revenge by causing Staziak's mother to kill herself - well, she sacrifices herself instead of letting him scan her - and that leads to a brutal final battle in a warehouse.Khrystyne Haje is in this, following being in Head of the Class. She's also in Cyborg 3: The Recycler and Demolition University, but don't feel bad for her. In 2001, it was reported that she was the quarter owner of a Silicon Valley company worth $500 million.Director Steve Barnett also made Mindwarp and Hollywood Boulevard II, a movie that I never knew existed until now. Writer Mark Sevi seems to be a sequel master, scripting films like Class of 1999 II: The Substitute, Ghoulies IV, Dream a Little Dream 2, Excessive Force II: Force on Force, Dead on: Relentless II and Relentless IV: Ashes to Ashes.Plus Robert Forester automatically adds several stars to any movies he shows up in.

Podle stejného receptu uklohněné o něco slabší pokračování. Více (vylepšených) cyborgů se postaralo o více masívní, leč stejně jednotvárné akce (mechanické střídání zpomalených explozí a pádů z výšek), ale ubylo humoru, který obstarávali dobrý záporák a jiskření mezi Bradleym a Alonnou. Tady sice Bradley taky dostane roštěnku, jenže až na samém konci, takže pošťuchování je méně a souložení žádné, no aspoň místy vyjde nějaký ten vtípek, je tu docela legračně použitá hudba a ze začátku nějaké ty kozy. A ta krásně blbá scéna záchrany malého kluka u benzínové pumpy! Vše pak končí výbuchem miniatury elektrárny. Škoda, že se tvůrci vykašlali na jakékoliv narážky na jedničku. Trojku, která se už obešla bez Firstenberga i Bradleyho, jsem neviděl a ani nechci, pokud vidím na obalu filmu jméno Franka Zagarina, jakkoli mám rád béčka, beru to jako varování. "VYŘIĎTE ŠÉFOVI (míněn cyborg jménem Spartacus), ŽE AŽ BUDU CHTÍT VIDĚT SPARTAKA, ZAJDU SI DO KINA."(01.08.2007)

Je to úplne priemerný akčný sci-fi film s Davidom Bredleym, ktorý je pokračovaním jeho celkom slušnej jednotky. Má ničím zaujímavý príbeh o policajtovi pátrajúcom po na smrť odsúdenom zločincovi, ktorý zabil jeho partnera, ale zistí, že ho prevzala tajná služba, aby z neho urobila bojového cyborga, no po pretvorení sa vymkne kontrole a spolu s ostatnými unikne. Spracovanie nie je zlé, tento typ príbehu ide úplne mimo mňa, takže dejovo ma to vôbec nezaujalo, ale aspoň sa stále niečo deje. Len zatiaľ čo pri jednotke mi vyhovovalo, že cyborgovia majú málo priestoru, tak tu už takmer z obrazu nezmiznú. Akcie je tu plno, ale až tak moc ma nezaujala, aj ked nie je zlá. Dala by sa rozdeliť na dve kategórie, tou vedľajšou je viacero súbojov s agentmi, v ktorých o moc nejde a tak sa nesú v takom zábavnejšom duchu, Bradley si ich viditeľne užíva a pozerá sa na ne dobre a tou druhou je už hlavná akcia s cyborgmi, ktorá je pomerne veľkolepá, s množstvom výbuchov, ale často aj nechtene smiešna, čo vidno hlavne pri záchrane chlapca pri benzínke. Najviac sa mi páči súboj pri aute a celkom aj likvidácia cyborgov v továrni. Z hereckého obsadenia zaujme iba David Bradley, inak už nikto nestojí za zmienku. Réžia už je horšia ako v jednotka, ale technická stránka je stále pre tento typ filmu celkom dobrá. Jednotka je celkom slušné béčko, dvojka už zaostáva, ale raz sa pozrieť dá. Objektívna kvalita filmu- 47%, film sa páči mne na 53%.(26.06.2011)

Hodně mrtvých v ultrabéčku s mizerným rozpočtem a v levných kulisách. Beru, že ve 11 letech před více než dvěma dekádami jsme z toho (hodně z nás) ucvrkávali. Tehdy to na videu prostě frčelo. Sam Firstenberg předkládal ročníkům 1980 a mladším solidní béčkovou rozkoš, herci nabízeli prkenný výraz a cyborgové byli zatraceně legrační.(18.09.2020)
